The No. 4 1/2 SMOOTHING PLANE body is cast in Ductile Iron with the Stanley 'bedrock' design frog. This is the definitive Smoothing Plane, a little longer and wider than the No. 4 at 10 3/8" long with a 2 3/8" x .140" thick blade. Weight is 5 ½ lbs. only made in cast iron. Fitted with the New Improved Chipbreaker.
