The No. 6 FORE PLANE or TRY PLANE body is cast in Ductile Iron with the Stanley 'bedrock' design frog. The same width as the No. 5 1/2, but longer at 18" with a 2 3/8" x .140" thick blade. Weight 7 1/2 lbs. Some cabinet makers prefer the No. 6 to the No. 5 1/2 because the extra length helps with shooting longer boards. Fitted with the New Improved Chipbreaker
