Lie Nielsen Shoulder Plane No.042

Slimmer and sleeker than its larger brother at just over half the width and weight, the No. 042 is well suited to access lighter work but is equally well made, with Lie-Nielsen’s commitment to design and quality of manufacture left in no doubt. Positive fine screw adjustment to both mouth and blade enable the finest of cuts to be taken or opened up and advanced for faster material removal from a coarser cut. The bevel edged blade overrides the body width of the plane by 0.12mm(.005") to ensure a crisp take up of material in to the 90° of the joint. Alternatively it can be aligned flush to one side of the body or the other. Supplied with an A2 tool steel cryogenically treated blade, ductile iron body, bronze lever cap and stainless steel adjuster.
