Rather than go the route of the push-me-pull-you side plane Lie-Nielsen have created the much more satisfactory option of a matched pair, one left and one right. The perfect answer to trimming and widening rebates and all kinds of difficult-to-get-at recesses, the front portion of each one can be removed to allow access to the blind corner of joints. Wonderful to own and use, they are superbly crafted in bronze set off with a polished cherry wood knob. The low angle blades produce an excellent cut on both end grain and long grain controlled by a fully adjustable depth stop to 5mm(").
